One of Those Days

Today was one of those days where things just seem to go poorly. To begin with, I am sick with a cold, and since I am breastfeeding, I am trying not to take any medication unless it gets really bad. So, I feel like crap, not a good start.

I went to the mall with some friends to shop. While we were in one store, Carli woke up from her nap. Now, being a mommy who knows my baby's schedule, I should have immediately made a plan to feed her because she always eats after her nap. Instead I decided to just let her be. Well, she wanted to eat, so she patiently waited until she realized that I was not planning to feed her at that time.

Then, it happened. The thing that every mom does not want to ever have happen to her. In the middle of the store, she started screaming, not crying... sheer shrieking. It was a horrible sound, and I am sure it sounded worse to me because I was the one who had to calm her. I quickly asked to use the dressing room and fed my child like I should have done before she had to let me know it was time to eat. I will try to never let that happen again.
