My life as...

...an Army wife:
I just had my first PCS move to Fort Bragg, NC in March. My husband, Chris, is getting used to his new job here. Right now he is going through some training that requires homework at night. Bummer! I was appointed to be the new FRG(family readiness group) leader for my husband's company. I am reading and going through training to figure out what I am expected to do. With a deployment coming up soon, I will have many responsibilities to the families in his company. I have to keep up with them and keep them informed of what the company is doing. I plan to blogg about my thoughts and feelings on my husband's deployment, but I cannot write about any specific things he is doing or give exact dates for security reasons.

...a new mom:
I had my baby, Carli Grace, 2 months ago. I love being a mom! Every day is such a joy to spend with my daughter and to raise her in a loving home. I am finally getting used to staying at home all day with my baby. My baby is now cooing and "talking" to me everyday. I love it! She rolled over from her stomach to her back on Monday. I was so proud of her. She is now 10 lbs 8 oz. and 23 inches long. Everyone tells me that they grow up quickly, but I am now experiencing that first hand. I feel like time has flown by. She is starting to sleep through the night, so I am feeling more rested and ready to be the best mom I can be everyday.
Pregnant women: Enjoy your few months of feeling that baby inside of you. I miss that feeling so much. I know that it is uncomfortable and you want to hold your baby, but enjoy the little bit of time that you have to have a little miracle inside of you.

...a woman:
Where did my body go? I am trying to get it back, but it is really hard. I run 3 miles most days of the week and am dieting as much as I can while breastfeeding, but the extra pounds are so stubborn. I lost 20 pounds easily, but who knows when I will lose the rest. I am planning to do another half marathon this fall or maybe next spring. If that doesn't help me lose the weight, then i don't know what will.
