Our first weekend trip with Carli

This weekend we packed up and headed to Myrtle Beach, SC. We had so much stuff because we took the dog and the baby. Two of my best friends were able to come with us, Dub and Amber. We had a blast! Carli got really sick of being in the car by the time we reached our destination, and I really hated that I could not hold her. Chris and I took the dog on a wonderful morning jog on the beach. Then we let Layla, the dog, swim in the ocean. She loves to prance through the waves, and I love watching her have so much fun. After that, she had to have a bath, and it ended up clogging up the bathtub drain. So when we all took showers later, it was a little disgusting. We kept Carli under the shade of an umbrella the whole time we were outside, but she still managed to get a little burned on her face. I am upset at myself for allowing that to happen, but all I can do now is make sure it does not happen next time. We had a great time and plan to go again later this summer. I love that we live so close to the beach that we can make it a weekend vacation.
