Chris's dad and step mom came to visit last weekend. They enjoyed seeing Carli again and thought she looked quite different from last time they saw her when she was about 1 week old. They brought her a fake aquarium that lights up, bubbles, and plays music. It attaches to her crib, and she loves it! It gives her something to look at while she is falling asleep, and it has really helped her to fall asleep on her own a little easier. I love it as well because I put her down and next thing I know, she is asleep. I highly recommend this to any new mom.
Carli and I went to our play group again yesterday. I put her on her tummy, and she held her little head up and looked around at all the other kids during the singing and story time. She looked so cute and is doing so well with controlling her little head. I was so happy because this time there were two ladies with babies close to Carli's age. One had a five month old boy and the other had a nine month old girl. I sat with them and really enjoyed getting to know them. They are both pretty new to the area. I have actually been here longer than both of them. I look forward to getting to know them better through the play group.
Well, I am finally taking a big step in motherhood, leaving my baby with a sitter for the first time. I am very nervous about it, but I know I need to do it. This Thursday night we have an Army function that is adults only, so Carli will be staying with a couple from our Sunday School class. They are a sweet family with two boys. I hope Carli does well.
My life is pretty routine now. I have settled in to being a mom and, with Carli sleeping through the night, life is very managable. I feel refreshed and excited about each new day.
